Gulangyu, an islet 20-minute voyage from urban Xiamen, enjoys a lauditory title "Garden on the Sea".  The islet is steeped in history and culture as it was populated early and a place of residence for Westerners during Xiamen's colonial past. It is famous for its architecture and for being home to China's largest piano museum.
